The best resort pieces feel like they were chosen with the trip already in mind. A color pulled from a painted doorway, a necklace that looks handmade at a seaside market, a sandal that seems like it came from a shop on the island.

That is the heart of destination dressing. I love letting a place guide the way I put a look together, taking cues from the colors of the landscape, the shells along the shore, the stripe of a beach umbrella, the blue of a tiled wall. One small reference leads into the next until the whole outfit feels like it grew out of the setting itself.

Bright crochet, printed layers, woven textures, and little hints of color make a look feel sunlit and specific. These are the pieces I reach for by the water, on a walk through town, at a long lunch, or packed away for the next place I can’t wait to explore.
